San Francisco Magic Parlor
The Chancellor Hotel Union Square Theatre
La Belle Époque (the beautiful time)
…Was a brief moment in history from 1885 to 1910 when Paris
was a hub of romance and culture. During this time the Art Nouveau
style flourished. Wealthy Parisians dined at Maxim’s and frolicked at the
Moulin Rouge. As you enter our theatre you are transported back 100
years to the fashionable Beaux Arts period.
The Chancellor Hotel Union Square
…For almost 100 years the Chancellor has been a fixture on Union
Square. Built eight years after the 1906 Earthquake, for the Panama
Pacific International Exposition world’s fair of 1915, it was the tallest
building in San Francisco when it opened.
The family owned hotel maintains the same traditions, world-class
service, and special touches of comfort, that made the Chancellor the
Union Square landmark it is today.
The location could not be more convenient. The cable car stops at
the hotel's doorstep on its way to Fisherman's Wharf. World class shops,
restaurants, and the theatre district are steps away.
Enjoy optional pre-show dinners, drinks, and desserts
5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the hotel’s lobby lounge.
